Concrete Preservation Technologies was proud to attend the 9th International Conference on Concrete Repair, Durability and Technology, recently held in Lisbon, Portugal.
Our Lead Materials Scientist, Christian Stone, delivered a presentation on his latest research, “Analysis of the Half-Life ‘Ageing-Constant’ Theory for Galvanic Anodes.” This technical paper examines the predictive accuracy of the widely referenced ‘ageing constant’ model, particularly in the context of CPT’s galvanic anode systems.
Using over 17 years of monitoring data from the Whiteadder Bridge, the paper demonstrates that the half-life model underestimates anode performance, revealing a need to reconsider how long-term durability is assessed across differing anode types and designs.
We remain committed to advancing corrosion science and sharing our insights with the global engineering and materials community.
